Sometimes you just don't feel like it.

One more for the pile of "not finished but meh".

It's even got a video to accompany the meh-ness.

Available when it is, as usual.

The Throne of Games

So there's this work I did a year ago, which kinda became a thing. I thought it'd be time for a refresher.

If you want to set them as your background, open and save below links.

And of course, the video (might take a bit to process):

More of these stuff

As usual, this is one of the last remaining few of David Murphy's comic project which can be read from here:

This one's called 'Morothor', a battle mech/robot.

So there are 3 more of these left, once done, marks an end to a journey that began in 2009. Hopefully the rest will happen soon enough.

Of course, also a video to accompany the piece. I however didn't record through the end, as after the 10th hour detailing became too meticulous to be meaningful and noticeable.

If the video is not up, give it some time.

On a different topic, this blog has rather been a bit... well, not kept up to date. Some menus are still lackluster and the old forum has vanished due to inactivity. The Q&A stuff on reddit still don't have custom graphics and whatnot. I'll get to them albeit slowly.

That is all.

Slowly but surely

This shit's gonna get done someday. 1 page at a time. Either this is done or I am.

So I recently watched The Last of Us, and by watched I mean I saw youtube let's plays because I don't own a console. I'm a type of gamer who usually skips all cutscenes because in most games, cutscenes are nuisance- something that gets in your way of enjoying a game. In this game however it was something to be watched, treasured, digested and really think over.

The actual story itself was kind of dull, but the dialogue and the character animation really brought everything together. At the end of it I even had a feeling of sadness like the one you experience after reading a good long book - all that from few hours of cutscene videos.

It's an incredible testament to how well developed characters, dialogue and acting (animation) can really push a medium as an art form.

Another one of these games that left a strong impression on me was The Walking Dead by Telltale. Obviously, a game coming from a small studio isn't as fleshed out as something Naughty Dog can put out, but it handled story and mature subject fairly well - which earned them well deserved praises as seen from last year.

It's also pretty interesting to consider that they both use the same genre and carry a similar theme to drive the story. Two of the most praised story-driven games in this generation, two games, one genre, and similar themes. Interesting.

I bet Ellie and Clementine would've made good friends.

That is all.

This one's for Imagine FX magazine workshop. It's a full, detailed painting tutorial/walkthrough so you might wanna check on it when it comes out.

Also... do you have 3 hours to kill? Well, have I got a video for you!

Alrighty then.

Just keep swimming

Just keep drawing, just keep drawing, and do it like 999 more times, maybe more.

A snake-like battle robot called "Adreden". For David Murphy and his project:

Also accompanied by a time-lapse video of me drawing it from beginning to the end.

If lack of music bores you, here: I put together some music in a playlist. Play this while watching. :3

A brief new series "Get Back To Work" reminiscent of the old One A Days which will continue for god knows how many days. Well, at least till I feel my skill is back on the track.

BTW, I'll try to have accompanying timelapses for each of the series post. That should be interesting.

This is a scheduled blog post so by the time it's up, so should the video. I've given up on the audio at this point, though. I can't even search Youtube's audioswap database by the audio/music length anymore and nor can I use more than 1 audio at once. Instead of having a measly 3 minute music at the beginning and a complete silence for the rest 30 minutes, you can listen to your favorite music while watching me draw!... or something.

Almost 2 months

Finally finished moving and just settled in. It's been pretty damn hectic. Went almost 2 months without drawing- I might be losing a bit of touch for that. Better get back on the track fast.

I probably should do those one a days I used to do, just to sharpen my skill - or what's left of it.

Blog update

Self portrait of a sad man

Most of the menu has been populated, including Misc Works which now include all the excluded works, sketches and doodles dating back to 2007. I thought about uploading 2006 and prior works but they just make me cringe at how bad they are now. I'll just have to pretend I became sentient on 2007.

Also Tips and Resources has been populated, now including many of the useful forum tutorials and advice I've been giving out, as well as Brush sets and hardware recommendations.

Comics and About Jin sections have seen minor updates as well. Although not much are going for them at the moment as I have yet to finish a sizable amount of comic to upload, and I've no clue on what to write about myself. I'll get to them as they come.

Best of Best, Portfolio and Fanart/Comic Strip sections have also been updated and tweaked albeit in minor terms. Best of Best possibly took the biggest hit, as I have removed all the babbles because it just made me cringe. My apologies to everyone who enjoyed my babbling. It just had to go.

Last but not the least, I'm getting rid of the Freeforums forum web application. They're just abysmal overall with frequent downtime, confusing UI and just not really an effective helping method for anyone asking me questions. Now I've created a subreddit on reddit, which frankly feels a bit weird, but I'm positive that this will be a better alternative on the long run. I've yet to fully explore the menu and make it really feel at home, but as usual, if you have any questions art related or not, feel free to give that a go. I'll try to answer it as best as I can while sounding like a total dick.

Stay tuned for more updates. Well actually, go on living your lives. Updates are few and far between and you don't wanna wait here.

That is all.

When Moe Ruled The World

Well that was fun. And another closed loop in my work backlogs.

And the previous version:

The piece first began its life as one of my unfinished works. Back in 2008, I intended this to be one of the pieces for ImagineFX magazine Q&A piece, but soon realized my inadequacies in completing this piece and promptly abandoned it (and instead drew something more simple for the Q&A). I always had this one in my mind as I enjoyed the fundamental concept behind it.

So after 4 years, realizing that my capability now allows for achieving almost the exact image I was envisioning, I have again tackled on the piece.

That's it for now. This is my occasional vent piece and I have thoroughly enjoyed drawing it. Now back to doing the work I've been on for quite some time...

So this is still kinda around, getting worked on like someone building a wooden shed as a hobby.

Well, that's all. The comic is still the main thing I'm working on and 2013 is a good year to get it published. The number itself is quite significant so I'd hate to miss it.

Wish me luck.
